The Hydrothermal Process

Hydrothermal treatment technology employs the combination of heat and water as a media to convert un-utilized resources in various shapes and characteristics into uniform product. The dry product was originally meant as coal alternative solid fuel, but by using food residue as the raw material, the product can also be used as livestock food. When processing the organic waste or sewage sludge, the liquid part of the product can also be used as organic fertilizer.

The treatment begins by loading the raw material into a reactor, and then injecting saturated steam of about 200 °C and 2 MPa into the reactor. Mixing process is then conducted by a stirrer in the reactor for about one hour while holding the temperature and pressure. After finishing the holding period and discharge of the steam, wet uniform product can be extracted, and then can be easily dried due to improved drying performance of the product.

The “plastic to oil” plant converts petroleum based waste first into a gas that is then mostly converted after catalytic cracking and condensation into heavy (Diesel fuel) and light oil (gasoline –  Naphta quality).
